Political commercials

Two types of political commercial this morning:

1. El Gordo promoting the UK Politics channel on the American-owned YouTube. It's a classic 10 Downing Street-era Brown perfomance - a weird combination of fake smiles interspersed with terrifying gloom. And the sound of a door slamming somewhere. Google, the owner of YouTube, is worth $190 billion and probably doesn't need the publicity, but is grateful anyway.

2. Helen Grant, the newly-crowned successor to Ann Widdecombe in Maidstone, whose nice website has a link on every page to her company, Grants Solicitors. Is advertising for a commercial business allowed on an official campaigning site? We are, as ever, just asking.
