Westmonster's trying to ween itself off coverage of the UK's notoriously thin-skinned political bloggers, but when two of the biggest start laying into each other it's always too good to ignore. RecessMonkey's Alex Hilton started things off with this screed on Comment Is Free, arguing that no-one will ever convince him that "Toryism isn't inherently evil."
This gets on Tory blogger Iain Dale's nerves, and in his latest list he calls Hilton a "lefty blogging tw*t" (we're assuming the missing vowel is an "i", as Iain lives in Tunbridge Wells and they don't use language like that down there). Normally, the rules of UK political blogging suggest it all ends there - post, counter-post-containing-insult - but Hilton isn't taking it lying down, and is now threatening to reveal all sorts of things about Dale, David Cameron and text messages.
Leave it to the Devil's Kitchen to really lay into Hilton with a trademark evisceration. We wait in anticipation to see if this row continues, or if it's just a cooked-up scheme to boost the traffic of the two bloggers concerned. What, you didn't know people did that? Look, we're doing it now!
