Bloomberg ReviewWatch (TM)
Robert Hutton, a London reporter from Bloomberg, has taken a valuable public service in hand: tracking the number of policy reviews in the Brown government. He's been given a hat-tip by venerable lobby-dude Michael White.
Hutton reckons there have now been 31 policy reviews announced since June 27, including four yesterday alone from My Policy himself, Ed Balls. Hutton carries a killer stiletto-in-the-nuts quote from a professor:
"[Brown's] clearly a man who likes to think hard about things and gather the evidence but who doesn't find it that easy to make decisions," said Tony Travers, a professor of politics at the London School of Economics. "Evidence-based policy-making is a good thing, but you've got to have the policy-making."
Ouch. Get reviewing!
