BJ quote of the day

boris.jpgSo someone's been to BoJo's Christmas party, at the Star Wars exhibition in County Hall:

Boris said that he was proud to be running for Mayor of the greatest city in the world, then looking at the various spacecraft and aliens of the exhibition added "probably the greatest city in the universe, and if I've upset some city in a far off galaxy I'm sure I'll be sent there to apologise".

Funny, that, but we at Westmonster are suckers for symbolism. So how do you feel about a wannabe London mayor partying down in what used to be the seat of London government, but which has now been transformed by the Tories into an oasis of crap restaurants, rubbish art, overpriced fishtanks and, of course, a monument to the worst of American cinema?

PS: Ben Brogan reckons BoJo's going to have to raise his game:

If David Cameron really is heading for the big time, then Boris is the warm-up act and can't afford to bomb. Which may explain why Mr Cameron and campaign supremo George Osborne are taking such an interest in the Johnson campaign.

A monument to "Pearl Harbour"?
