Airing dirty laundry in public
- Perhaps one of the less bright ideas of the Conservatives was the debate yesterday on party funding as it gave the hitherto ignored questions ("they're just trying to smear us, you know," CCHQ had previously claimed, flouncily, when the words "Lord" and "Ashcroft" were put to them in any sort of order) on the Tories' finance a thorough airing. That's not to say the scenes were edifying, and that Francis Maude wasn't crap (according to the Independent).
- Paul Linford on the advisability of the Gord hosting a Night of the Long Knives.
- Peter Tatchell ponders the wider implications of the Miranda Grell saga on Comment is Free.
- Wendy Alexander claims her political bacon will be saved by some emails she's discovered.
- Andy Hayman, assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police has resigned citing a "smear" attempt.
- Mike Smithson on the curious campaign of wee Nicky Clegg.
- And the always-wonderful Olly's Onions on the man who's been missing for ten years.
