While You Were Sleeping

Watt's the Story, Morning Glory

  • Of course the resignation (submitted by or done to, scratch one according to theory) of Labour's General Secretary Peter Watt over a donation scandal of Enron-style complexity is the main story this morning.
  • From the comrades, Chris Paul thinks it regrettable but inevitable that he should go, Guido of the Yard is on the scent of related financial scandals, and the Mail reckons it's unearthed some.
  • Labour suffers its lowest level of support in nearly twenty years in today's ComRes poll for the Independent. 27 percent. Read it and weep, people. Interestingly, the Conservatives are on 40 (down one) and don't seem to be gaining overmuch (or at all) from the woes of the Gord. UK Polling Report analysis here.
