Rock Stars. Is there anything they DON'T know?
Why oh why can't politicians be more like St Bob of Geldof and the assorted celebs who courageously congregate in fields annually, wearing wristbands in a futile attempt to relaunch their careers to demand social change happens, like, yesterday?
Well, largely because the public seems to accept bullshit grandstanding from warblers and booty-shakers but not from their elected representatives which explains why him from the Smiths has managed to get away with making a couple of choice comments about the influence of our friends of foreign extraction on our way of life.
... with the issue of immigration, it’s very difficult because, although I don’t have anything against people from other countries, the higher the influx into England the more the British identity disappears ... It matters because the British identity is very attractive. I grew up into it, and I find it quaint and very amusing.
Cancel all social change, people! Morrissey doesn't find it either quaint or amusing.
UPDATE: Wesmonster's colleague (who is a Young Person and knows these things) has informed her that Morrissey actually divides his time between LA and Rome where he would be an ... uh ... immigrant. Do you see where we're going with this one, people? Do you?

Drone on in most miserable voice for a further 4 minitues then take a deep breath and let out one last long whine to fade.
Of course I disagree strongly with his views.
I'm glad that he's emigrated; there are only three bad things to come out of Manchester: the M6, MUFC and Morrissey.
