Reader, I accepted the LibDem selection

Celebrity rozzer Brian Paddick has been selected as the Liberal Democrat's candidate for the London mayoralty, but Sam Coates of the Times reports there could be trouble ahead as his no-holds-barred autobiography is due to be released about a month before polling day.

Ken's going to have no shortage of reading material this election, what with Bojo's recent poetic masterpiece presumably already on the Mayor's Amazon wish list for this Christmas, and now the news that Paddick feels the time is right to share his life story with a grateful nation.

Brian says that the book will explore "the sort of experiences I have had, both professionally and privately," which we're sure will come as a great comfort to the Lib Dems.
