A colleague has burst into Westmonster HQ and breathlessly declared that LibDem leadership contender Chris Huhne had "done an Angus MacNeil!"

Hurrah! At last, something's happened in this interminable campaign. So, Chris has had to 'fess up to a sordid "heavy petting" session with two winsome teenage lovelies and ... oh.

Apparently, he's "done an Angus MacNeil" in that he's dobbed the comrades in to the rozzers over the Abrahams party funding scandal (as MacNeil did over loans-for-lordships), instead of getting himself involved in a shaggery scandal that we all profess to be shocked about in public but sneakily Google for the pictures in private. No, no, it's brilliant news that we've got another inquiry into donations. Really.

Ho hum. Another police investigation into Labour, another LibDem leadership contest. Like Christmas, both seem to come earlier every year.
