He's gonna do politics HIS way!

Fraser Nelson's got an interesting interview with Alex Salmond (Scotland's answer to Judge John Deed - he's a maverick, doncha know) in this week's Spectator. Inter alia, it's revealed that Alex quite wants the Tories to win the next election as there's more chance of the SNP winning a referendum on independence if he can claim that the Scottish people are being sold short by the Hated Tories In Westminster. Being the sort of principled chap he is, Salmond has apparently offered the Boy George some useful advice on achieving this state of affairs:

Mr Salmond recently found himself sitting next to George Osborne, the shadow Chancellor, on a flight to Edinburgh and gave him a few pointers as to how to get the Tartan Tories back in the game.

Lord. The sacrifices Alex Salmond will make to ensure that Scotland is eventually renamed the People's Democratic Republic of Alex Salmond Lovers, eh?
