Saudi Arabia: our shared values?

Abdullah 291007.jpgWestmonster cannot help but admire the grit of Saudi leader, King Abdullah. In spite of the news that whatshisname from the Liberal Democrats had refused to swap pleasantries with him over canapes, somehow His Highness has managed to summon up the inner-steel to carry on with his British visit in the face of this devastating blow.

Nevertheless, everyone's clearly on orders to be on their best behaviour, with Foreign Office Minister Kim Howells (Miliband the Younger's on paternity leave) announcing that Britain and Saudi Arabia can unite around our "shared values."

Miliband the Younger?

Ed is the young one at 37, David is 42.

Keep up the good work, especially on the Telegraph's descent into soft-core middle-aged porn.

Ah, it's Miliband pere who's "Miliband the Elder"; David is "Miliband the Younger" which, of course, makes Ed "Miliband the Even Younger."

I watch too much Blackadder, I tells ye.

Ah, ok. Blackadder was before my time, so i was left with the Pitts as the only reference, both of whom were at least in politics.
