Pot calling the Kettle black

Excellent article in today's Guardian by Martin Kettle about how sweeping generalisations on the similarities between parties and political personalities are symptomatic of a "liberal narcissism" perpetrated by those too lazy to spend time figuring out the differences that do exist, if they could be arsed to turn off When Celebrity Diets Go Bad and have a cursory look.

Naturally, for such a thoughtful, intelligent article, it has engendered comments from readers of this variety:

All our politicians are totally out of touch, totally unrepresentative and don't give a damn to represent the people that elected them. In the meantime, they help themselves to millions of pounds of *our* money, while wasting it still further on legions of pen-pushers, pointless bureaucracy, consultants and stupid projects, such as ID cards.
