Our American Cousins
One million strong on Facebook
It's a Friday afternoon, neither the Lords nor the Commons are sitting, so...let's all mince around on Facebook! Woohoo! And let's link it tangentially to politics.
Audience: Boooo!
Anyway, the fastest growing Facebook groups are those that are linked in with the American Presidential race, with the groups One Million Strong for Barack at nearly 400,000 and 1,000,000 strong for Stephen T. Colbert at, er, well a million.
See folks, the age of mass participation isn't over, as long as nothing more is required of the electorate than clicking "join group."
Nevertheless, Westmonster pleads with readers not to forget another worthy Facebook cause who needs us more than even Barack and Stephen. It is a group for a man - nay! - a king amongst men, whom the world needs in this era of uncertainty, doubt, and terrorist threat. A man who can put an end to the encroaching evil of disillusionment in the political process in this era of partisan and class dealignment.
A man who, with your help, can be just as influential in public discourse (now officially owned by Facebook Corp) as pale shadows such as Obama and Colbert.
We speak, of course, of Mayor Quimby. Join the Group, kids, get engaged with the political process, and let's make it a million strong for Diamond Joe!
