Er, quick! Mention the war!
Well, it looks like the Boy George, with his Oxford Union Debating Society stylings, has sent the Gord off to Baghdad.
Nothing like reminding the anti-war middle classes to whom Osborne was appealing yesterday that one of the most resented decisions of the previous PM (Tony something, wasn't it?) is being slowly reversed, or revealing that he plans to inform Parliament rather than the Today programme of any troop cuts (unlike that Tony...et cetera).
There's also no harm in showing that he's a politician of substance by racking up meetings with the likes of Nouri Maliki and General Petraeus, whilst the Tories agonise in Blackpool over whether one should hug a drug dealer or give him a jolly good ticking off.
