Ministry for Inducing Daily Mail Apoplexy
Calculators still on order at DWP
Smoooooth timing from the Department for Work and Pensions.
So the Boy Davy's been getting plaudits for his euphemistic stylings around the immigration issue: "it's not about curbing immigration, it's about restricting excessive demographic change." Yeah right - you say tomato...
The media's getting all moist about the issue, Government's on the back foot trying to explain why it's bollocks, and it's at this point the DWP suddenly decide that now's the time to - you know - double check that the figures are kosher. Ruh roh! It turns out that they've underestimated the number of immigrants working in Britain to the tune of 300,000. According to no lesser sage than the Today programme, this is equivalent to the population of Coventry.
The cockpit of the nation.
