While You Were Sleeping
Brown's day from hell
- If you think your Monday's bad, check out Brown's diary: he'll get a hard time at the Downing Street press conference this morning, suffer heckles as he makes his Iraq statement (again, but in the Chamber this time), and finish off with addressing several hundred belligerent Labour MPs in the PLP meeting tonight. He'll be injecting Bach's Rescue Remedy straight into the eyeball come 7pm.
- Anti-war protesters are to defy ban in order to march outside Parliament on the day when the Broon is to announce a large-scale troop withdrawal from Iraq. Westmonster heard the woman who's organising it on Today and it seems she's very keen on
getting her face on the telly, er, Iraq. Definitely all about Iraq.
- According to the Mail on Sunday, Brown didn't even bother telling Des Browne or the Ministry of Defence what he was planning to announce regarding withdrawal in Iraq. Why, it sounds almost as if the entire thing was just some sort of publicity stunt...
- Prompt action by MP saves blogosphere from protracted campaign of tedium.
- A report by the European Scrutiny Committee is set to spell out further trouble for the comrades and the EU Treaty.
- In case you missed it, Brown decided not to call an election on Saturday. Here's another timeline.
- The CoffeeHouse calls the imaginary election for Cameron.
- It was Lord Ashcroft's millions wot won it in the marginals. Isn't democracy wonderful?
