Manifesto While U Wait?
Rumours continue apace about the possibility (probability?) of a snap general election to be called for 25th October.
P'raps Gord's just trying to give Cameron the willies in advance of his Conference next week; as soon as the words "snap poll" are uttered there is a Serengeti-style stampede of Tory grandees towards the nearest Sky journalist anxious to announce to all and sundry how the Conservatives should be talking more about birching poor people, leaving Cameron's tentative attempts to look young, green, and cuddly flattened like insubstantial saplings in their wake.
Nevertheless, Westmonster was intrigued to hear that any Labour manifesto "would not need much work" should Brown decide to go nuclear next Thursday. Curious, given that the PLP-based Manifesto Group was only established a couple of months ago and can hardly have met much given that the House went into recess about three weeks later.
Interesting, eh?
