Boris of all trades, potentially master of none

Bojo's selection as the Tories' candidate for the London mayoralty could prove to be more trouble than it's worth for the blond-haired bumbler. Not only has he, an ex-Eton posho, got to persuade the residents in London not to be fooled by the rocks he's got (he's still Boris from the block), but he could end up on civvy street if it all goes tits up.

Now he's got the nomination, he's coming under pressure from CCHQ to give up his Henley seat to campaign for the mayoralty full-time, and it's by no means certain he'll get that. Ken is a wily political operator and the experience of Ealing Southall shows that the meedja are fonder of posh toffs in suits than the electorate tend to be.
