While You Were Sleeping
An early start in Westminster
- Westmonster assumes from the phalanx of bleary eyed journos loitering around the Portcullis House area clutching triple espressos, that Merv's attempt to extricate himself from the Northern Rock fiasco is going to be the lead story today. Either that or the rumour's gone around that a Big Brother celeb's in the House again.
- A slap (ahem) in the face for the namby-pambyism of the "new political class": Tory MP Andrew Pelling (48 years old. Majority: 75) has been released on police bail after a complaint from his (second) wife, Lucy who is 26.
- Ming will address LibDem conference at 11.45am today. Fight the narcolepsy, people!
- Gord takes a stance on Mugabe's presence at the Portugal summit. Quite right. D'you know that in Zimbabwe people actually have to QUEUE FOR HOURS to withdraw their savings from the banks which, owing to financial mismanagement aren't worth...oh, wait.
- RecessMonkey demands more photos of ambitious young berks to adorn the walls of Parliament.
- A woman has an opinion: a nation is outraged.
