While You Were Sleeping
A bad morning in Blackpool
- Bad news for the Tories today as they wend their weary way up to Blackpool for their annual Conference: a YouGov poll for the Telegraph shows that Brown is maintaining his 11 point lead over Cameron. Still, as the front page splash was placed next to a picture of Nigella Lawson's bazongas in all their glory, there's a chance that nobody will notice. Shhh!
- The Times Populus poll is even worse for the Tories as it has them slipping a whopping five points, with the comrades up four and the LibDems down one.
- Newshounds over at ConservativeHome have been looking into the chance that other photos have been falsified in light of James Purnell's accident with PhotoShop yesterday and have uncovered some worrying evidence.
- Iain Dale with an exclusive that shortens the odds on an autumn poll.
- Rumours afoot that the Tories intend to make an annoucement pledging to abolish inheritance tax this week (hat tip Spectator Coffeehouse).
- Gordon Brown: more Heathcliff than great clunking fist? The ladies' jury is out, people.
